After a solid week of rain that our southern neighbours would've loved, keen locals set off down to Ingham'07. Like usual,it was more than well worth the effort! Whilst rumours in Cairns abounded that the campground was a mudbath & cars/bikes couldn't get through the gate because of the pool of water, nothing coud've been further from the truth, with the weather staying dry the whole time. We woke to what we thought was an overcast day, only to realise it was a permanent grey cloud of burnout smoke, that was to last 3 days! Octane Art's stall had lots of keen visitors, including a couple of Airbrush Artists from Townsville dropping in to chat(G'day boys,if you come to Cairns, drop in for a coldie) Tony O Brien's display for the infamous "To Hell & Back"included a smoke machine, that had passers by & kids intrigued, and Ron Vis's Skull & Tribal Striped Shovel turned more than a few heads & got many nods of approval.Tony's bike once again taking out two Awards. Again,we need to thank the lads for their support in letting us transport & show their bikes at this event. Also,to Mark Hoey, who let us take the "Boom Box"Mick Jagger van down, which drew lots of attention the whole trip! Over in the opposite corner of the hall, sat Steve Russell's "Spidatak"bike, which won two awards(Not bad for it's 1st show) Steve had left to travel to the Tablelands for work on Monday & was chuffed when told how his bike'd been judged. Every year the standard of this Show & the vehicles/bikes on display gets better & it's a serious "must see" event. Not to mention the burnouts & after hours entertainment that never seems to end.if you don't live nearby, then organise your holiday for Ingham '08.It gets better every year!
