In 2003,Newton Signs hosted the 10th Annual Letterheads.A yearly meeting voluntarily hosted by a signwriter,at a different location in Australia every year,
this event celebrates the traditional skills of Signwriting & Airbrushing & teaches new skills.
Approx.45 Signwriters from all over Australia & as far as NZ came together for this 3 day Cairns event.
An avid supporter of the Letterheads movement,Peter attends these yearly meetings.
This article,published in Visual Impacts Feb/Mar 07 issue,shows Peter Airbrushing friend & mentor,John Jordan,as Darth Vader,on a bar fridge,which is a compulsory raffle at these events.
John Jordan later requested Peter’s presence at the Burrawang Letterheads meet,to airbrush “Mr Cooper”for the restoration of the local pub. |
